Virtuous Circle 2021

Chris Wood Light were invited by Nestle to design and produce the Virtuous Circle Award. This award is presented by Nestle to associated companies who have distinguished themselves throughout the year. It represents  the achievement of holistic goals.

In total 15 awards were created. The dichroic elements of the design vary in form to create dynamism in the pattern, each of the four curves are defined by the apex of the dichroic elements. These four forms represent the elements of the virtuous circle, as defined by Nestle. The sweeping arc becomes gradually taller, peaking at the centre and representing the accomplishment of the achievement. During the design process we felt that it was crucial to provide the receiver with the option of either displaying the artwork on the stand or for it to be wall hung. To achieve this the stand was designed to slot inside the rear of the artwork, meaning that when on the stand the piece is secure but the option to remove it remains. Each award consists of three main components, an artwork, a wooden stand and an engraved plaque.
